Presentation Guidelines and Tips

Abstract Submission Is Closed

Every presentation at DDA meetings is accompanied by an abstract no more than 2,250 characters long that describes the research being presented. Meeting attendees wishing to present — whether via a talk or a poster — must submit a proposed abstract by the set abstract deadlines.

Presentation Style Preferences:

  • Oral (in-person)
  • Oral (remote/Zoom) Remote talk slots will be more limited in number than in-person
  • Poster (in-person)
  • Poster (virtual/slack)

Attendees can submit up to one oral science presentation, up to one science poster, and up to one oral presentation or poster for the Accessibility and Inclusivity in the Dynamics Community.

Abstract Submission Types:

  • Contributed
  • Invited

Category/Topic:

  • General Contributed
  • Binary Asteroids after DART
  • Uniform Sizes and Spacing in Planetary Systems
  • Accessibility and Inclusivity in the Dynamics Community

Depending on the number of submissions, the Science Organizing Committee may need to assign some abstracts to Poster presentation. In such a case, they will use the following rubric to evaluate abstracts:

Abstract Rubric

Criteria Considerations Out of Score
Impact on field How much does this move the field forward? e.g. in providing new knowledge foundations? Or in its potential as a connector or catalyst for other areas or further work? 5
Originality How unique is the contribution? In discovery? Or technique innovation? 5
  • Submitted abstracts will be rated from 1-5 in both of the categories
  • Additionally, the SOC will seek to achieve balance in research topics and in career stages.

Please note the deadline for creating/editing abstracts is Tuesday, 28 February. Abstract confirmation letters will be sent on Thursday, 16 March.

If you have questions about submission or have login difficulties, please contact Sherrie Brown.
